You’d expect Gabrielecorto Moltedo, son of Bottega Veneta’s former owners, to know a thing or two about nice bags. His beautiful, luxury accessories label, Corto Moltedo, proves this to be true and his first standalone boutique shows he’s also inherited a thing or two from his folks about good retails design. At the beginning of this year he opened his first flagship boutique in the Jardins du Palais Royal in Paris, a spot he’d earmarked as the future site of his first store whilst studying in Paris. The 65-metre squared space is a meeting place of art and fashion. The 60-odd bags are displayed like works of art and, continuing the disciplinary commingling theme, Moltedo has enlisted the help of Columbian artist Federico Uribe who has two installations in the space.
